The area of Bajitpur Upazila under Kishoreganj district is 193.76 squre km. Katiadi Upazila is situated at the west side of Bajitpur Upazila. Nikli at the North side, Autagram & Sorail at the East side and Kuliarchar at the South side.
There are two revelations about the origin of Bajitpur. The first of these is that during the Mughal period, a ruler named Baizid Khan came to Delhi with his other three brothers, Bhagal Khan, Pailan Khan and Delwar Khan, from Delhi. After some time, after settling their habitat in 4 places around Bajitpur, after the development of Baijidpur in the name of Baijid Khan's residence, it was Basitipur in evolution. In this way Pailanpur named Pailanpur and Bhagal Khan named Bhagalpur Delwar Khan got named as Dellulpur.
In the second publication, the public was sent to the Mughal commander Baizid Khan or to prevent the progress of Isha Khan in Haor region. Isha khan then took the position of haor area to the Ghagra area, then Baizid Khan took the position of two miles west of Ghorautra river in present-day Bajitpur. However, it does not seem to be very believable or reliable, because there is no detailed history of whether or not he had ever been sent to war with Ishaqan. Moreover, there is no indication of his permanent residence here. Temporary accommodation can be started after Baizidpur, after the name of Bajitpur. But the first publicity seems to be more acceptable.
